Our rooms are designed to feel like a home away from home.

Each of our pub rooms is different, drawing inspiration from the neighbouring ancient woodland. The interiors preserve the heritage of the pub, blending seamlessly with all the modern comforts one would expect from the exceptional standards of a Daylesford Stays property. Twelve rooms sit above the pub and The Barn, including a family room.

Cosy

As the name suggests, some of our smaller rooms are perfect for couples, offering a cosy atmosphere. Each room combines excellent mattresses, sumptuous bed linen and cloudlike pillows.

Classic

Filled with natural light, our Classic Doubles are a combination of antique pieces sourced from around the world, bespoke and antique furniture reupholstered with vintage fabrics and the most comfortable super king size beds.

Spacious

Our largest rooms are located in the oldest part of the 17th century pub, either overlooking Church Street or nestled in the eves. Each characterful room retains many of its original features. Super king size beds provide the utmost comfort.

Family

Our Family Room is spacious with a super king size bed and twin single four-poster beds with playful gingham checks in a second connecting bedroom, perfect for exploring the Cotswold countryside.

Architecture & design

When restoring the fabric of the building, Daylesfordโ€™s in-house team of architects looked to its history. Original features have been sympathetically restored, and local and recycled materials were used for the construction to minimise impact on the environment.

The Nest room interiors are inspired by the beautiful burgundy embroidery on the linen curtains designed especially for us by the artist Sarah King. Look closely and you'll see charming acorn, oak leaf and owl motifs.

For the design of our bedrooms we looked to talented local artisans and craftspeople, whose work of the hand can be seen in many of the details throughout our pub.

The antique bed in the Oak bedroom features a beautiful embroidered pelmet covered with nature-inspired motifs, which we think might date back as early as the seventeenth century.

Due to its age, the fabric required some restoration so our team enlisted the help of the incredibly talented Sarah King, who specialises in crewelwork embroidery. Sarah carefully refreshed and replicated all the little squirrels, dogs, flowers and birds - each using a unique blend of English-dyed wool matched to the original colours of the antique version.
